Mary Ridgely has been working in the field of disability services for more than thirty-five years. Her numerous direct service roles have included vocational counseling, case management, job development/ job coaching and work incentives counseling. In 1995, Mary became the Executive Director of a non-profit organization that specialized in providing work incentives counseling services and began to train other professionals in the state of Wisconsin. In her role as Executive Director, she coordinated federally funded work incentives counseling programs. She continued to train work incentives counselors on a national level as a staff member in the Employment and Disability Institute at Cornell University from 2000 through 2010. Mary has significant experience in developing materials for training work incentives counselors. Prior to joining the staff at VCU, Mary was an independent consultant working for the State of Wisconsin Department of Health Services on various projects, including employment for individuals with physical disabilities and improving the state’s Medicaid Buy-In.
