Leigh Jones has been working in the field of disability and employment for over a decade. Prior to joining VCU as a Training and Technical Assistance Liaison, she worked at a Community Rehabilitation Provider working with the Community Employment Program. Leigh provided training and technical assistance to 8 Evidence Based Practice Supported Employment Programs as well as managed 6 benefits counselors at those programs. She provided training to employment specialists, One-Stop Career Center staff, Vocational Rehabilitation staff, individuals with disabilities and families on the positive effects of employment and its impact on benefits. Leigh has over ten years experience with work incentives, and has both full CWIC and Maryland benefits counseling certifications. She was among one of the partners in the development of Maryland’s Medicaid Buy-in Program and played a critical role in advancing benefits counseling in Maryland. She has a Master’s in Rehabilitation Counseling with an emphasis in Deafness from Northern Illinois University.
