Kimberly Pierce is a Training and Technical Assistance Liaison for Virginia Commonwealth University’s National Training and Data Center. Kimberly has worked in the benefits counseling, work incentive and financial coaching field since 2000.
Prior to joining NTDC, Kimberly served as a Program Director for the New Jersey/Delaware Work Incentive Planning and Assistance program where she provided Social Security and state-specific benefits and work incentive training and technical assistance to staff, beneficiaries and community partners. In this role, Kimberly implemented and managed a multiple state specific toolkit to aid benefits counseling services to WIPA staff and their beneficiaries. In addition, she worked as a Community Work Incentive Coordinator (CWIC) while managing WIPA grants. Kimberly has previous experience working as a CWIC, Financial Coach and Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor. In these roles she provided direct instruction and consultation to hundreds of Social Security disability beneficiaries and Promoting Readiness of Minors in SSI (PROMISE) program participants and their families. Kimberly has a Bachelor of Science in Counseling Psychology/Social Work from Washington Adventist University in Takoma Park, MD and is a certified Senior Health Insurance Program (SHIP) Volunteer.
