Erika Gomez serves as a Monitor and Support Specialist with Virginia Commonwealth University’s Work Incentives Planning and Assistance (WIPA) National Training and Data Center (NTDC) in the School of Education’s Department of Counseling and Special Education – Rehabilitation Research and Training Center.
Erika is a Certified Work Incentives Counselor, and prior to joining NTDC, she served under various Work Incentive Planning and Assistance projects. While in this role, she worked with hundreds of Social Security beneficiaries and provided benefits counseling to encourage and support their return- to-work efforts. In addition, Erika has experience working with seniors, providing referrals to resources in the community, and managing in-home services.
Erika has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Rockford University, in Rockford, IL and is a certified State Health Insurance Program (SHIP) Volunteer.
