Miranda Root is a Training and Technical Assistance Liaison for the VCU National Training and Data Center.
Miranda’s experience with Social Security disability benefits began with assisting individuals experiencing homelessness navigate the application process using SAMHSA’s SSI/SSDI Outreach, Access, and Recovery (SOAR) Model. She became a Community Work Incentives Coordinator in 2016 and served as a WIPA Project Director for 5 years prior to joining VCU.
Miranda has a Masters of Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis where she specialized in social and economic development. She is a Licensed Master of Social Work in Missouri.
