Supplemental WIPA Training Programs

WIPA NTDC Supplemental Training: Interpreting BPQYs Teleconference

Format: Teleconference

Date(s): March 10, 2020

Time: 2:00 - 4:00pm Eastern Time

This two-hour teleconference will focus on understanding how to use the Benefits Planning Query (BPQY) in the performance of work incentives counseling. Training content will include a detailed review of the components of the BPQY as well as what information is not contained in this report.  We will identify the most common situations in which BPQY information may be misinterpreted and explore strategies for making correct determinations of benefits status.

After this training, participants should be able to:

·         Describe why BPQYs are necessary and identify which beneficiaries require a BPQY

·         Identify specific strategies for procuring BPQYs for Social Security

·         Describe what information is contained in each section of the BPQY

·         Identify the limits of the BPQY and what information is not contained in this report

·         Identity three main situations in which BPQYs may contain confusing information and describe strategies for making correct interpretations

Completion Requirement:

You are required to successfully complete a ten-question, multiple-choice, competency-based assessment within one week after the training to receive completion credit.  The assessment will be located in your myNTC account.  You will receive additional instructions in your confirmation email on how to take the assessment.

Continuing Certification Credits (CCCs):

If you are participating in the VCU NTDC continuing certification process, we will record three (3) credits for this training in your myNTC account once you successfully complete the assessment.
